I am so impressed with everyone's blocks. I can't wait to see them all finished. The colors and design's on all of them are so individual and just so so pretty.

Wow, have just looked at all the post of the blocks done so far and what great pieces to work with.  I will be working on mine tonight and tomorrow and hope to post picture when done, that is if I figure out how to do that.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Okay,LOVE IT!

Linda:

I love all of the centers so far. So many possibilities.

Avis: Your pattern would make a lovely memory quilt using men's ties. I have some from my father-in-law that I might have to "steal" your idea for.

My center is a crazy block (quilt). Colors are red, blue, green, yellow, gold, purple--many choices. The center ( a little off-center) is a piece of bargello. I want to make a bargello quilt one day and I thought this little piece would get my feet wet. I wouldn't mind if ones in my group would make crazy borders. Just please no black in this one. The block measures 22 1/2 inches square. Can't wait to start.

Happy New Years everyone.

Happy belated birthday SteffiKay!

I am sooo loving all the blocks that have appeared so far.  I finally have mine drawn out.  I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but couldn't find a pattern, so I ended up drawing it out on graph paper.  But, as usual, I am struggling with transforming it to actual squares. So, I'm going to ask for help.

If I want my finished square to be 1", do I cut it at 1.5"?  And if I want an HST to end up being 1", should I make it 2" and cut it down?

Oh, I really need to find an inexpensive software that will help me convert my drawing to patterns.  Dang but this stumps me every time!

Susie, I am sorry I cannot answer your question but... I was looking around Amazon.com yesterday and they had something basic, made by The Electric Quilt Design Company for like $23.00   Don't know if that's what you are looking for or not?

Good luck.

For the HST you would cut 1 and 7/8. To get a 1 in HST.  And yes. 1.5 for the square to be 1 in.

Avis,

Remember I said I like your center for a memory quilt with men's ties. I went back and printed it out. The light border looks great on it. When deciding, you might want to consider the borders could be dark (I guess they could be light also) but they will have some color and not be totally white.

Just putting in my 2 cents.

Ok girls my center is done!  Changed my mind several times before ending up with this funky chicken.  My DH figured out how to post the picture for me.  Looking forward to getting started.
