Ruth:Hello everyone , I have been quilting for QOV for about 2 years now.
Hi Ruth! Welcome to the QOV Group. Although I don't have a strong connection with the military - I value my freedom, and deeply appreciate our valiant service members. After a very long and busy Fall and holiday season, I have finally cleared of my sewing cabinet and worked on a QOV I had started in October. Feels wonderful. We would love to see pictures of your progress on your QOV!
I quilted this QOV today . It was pieced by Joline Frazier in Maine.
It's lovely Ruth.
Thank you for your service. Hope you and yours are fine.
My name is fom from Oak Leaf Quilting in Grove City Ohio. I have been longarming on a Gammill Classic plus since 2008.
Just found this group. I have been longarming for QOVF since the beginning of the year. As a VietNam era Navy vet I appreciate the importance of the support this foundation provides to our armed forces. It is very important that our service men and women feel they have the support of their family, friends and the entire country, not only while deployed but once they are back home as well. Their sacrifice is neormus. We all owe them a debt that can never be repaid. Make sure they know you care.
Here are a couple pics of the QOV I just sent back to the piecer. He is from WY so the theme should make him feel closer to home.
Wow Tom! Beautiful quilting! God Bless you for working on QOV.
Tom, your commitment to QOV is obvious. What beautiful work! Whoever receives this quilt will definitely feel appreciated and valued. Thank you for your service to our country, and for your dedication to our soldiers!
Beautiful quilting Tom.

Beautiful quilting, Tom! That is a work of art!
Good evening - I just want to introduce myself and say hi. My name is Pat, and I'm from British Columbia in Canada. I am a firm believer in supporting Quilts of Valour on both sides of the border. I have a cousin who is a Vietnam Vet, and another cousin that just completed her second mission in Afghanistan, both serving with American forces. My husband, uncle, grandfather, and a number of good friends have served with the Canadian forces in many war zones.
I just completed this quilt for the Canadian "Quilts of Valour" . The quilting motif is maple leaves. This is a small way that I can say Thank You..
Hello Pat from BC,
your quilt is gorgeous. I just love the blues.
Welcome, Pat! Your quilt is wonderful!
I signed up to be a longarm quilter for QOV and will be getting two tops soon. Any suggestions?
Hi Elizabeth. Great to hear you will be quilting for QOV! So many tops, so few quilters. Thanks for doing it. I suggest taking pictures of the quilt loaded on the frame and a closeup of some of the quilting. Make your own journal for the recipient and include the pictures of the process.
