  • My First Mystery

This was my first mystery. I had no idea how it was going to come out with the fabrics I selected. My daughter Sandi was the on line hostess. You may all know her as kwiltnkats. Darn she wouldn't tell me anything other than what you other quilters wanted to know. She kept me just as another member...

  • Quilt top done, That was fun!

The top is done and I did change my mind about a few things, like the border and it did not end up being as scrappy as initially planned. But, with the exception of the backing, which I changed my mind on twice, I was able to use everything from my stash. And the pieces of the stash were from quilts...

  • Secret Window Part 2

My copy of number 140 did not arrive in the post and the mag is all sold out apparently. I am a subscriber to the magazine and am very disappointed not to be able to complete my quilt which is already complete for part 1. I now have part 3. I live in Victoria Australia, and know no one else in my quilting...

  • Re: Reveal question

Hello Jan, Our quilt tops should finish at 56" x 68" if we are right on. The instructions on the blog tell us to measure across from top to bottom for our lengths needed for the middle and outer borders. But the last paragraph shows Sandi's label and that is where I got the finished size...

  • Re: Anyone else scrambling because their fabric choices turned out to be not-so-good?

I am with ya all the way, if you didn't like the fabrics you fist chose, it is perfectly OK to change your mind. WE ARE WOMEN.. I have just seen the reveal and love love love the look Sandi has, but remember she created it.. I'm going to check out my choices right now to see if I have to change...

  • Re: When is Part 3 coming out? We wait with tools in hand.

Hi Caryl Anne and other MQA folks: this is Diane, one of the editors at Quiltmaker. That issue will begin shipping to subscribers on July 26. It will appear in quilt shops and on newsstands by August 9. All that being said, this is a good time to explain that once the files go to the printer, you never...

  • Springtime in Pearland Part 2

Finally finished these great blocks. They were challenging, but that is what I needed. Hope y'all had a great time doing them. I do have a hint for those who are not done; PIN the two triangle squares to the 4 patch matching the beginning, the middle and see that the point is lined up to the line...

  • Re: Question on Part 2

Hi JanJo, I too love Triangulations! Some of the most useful software I have ever owned. I use it all the time. In looking at Part 2 and the unit 3's and 4's, I think you should be able to use the quarter-square triangles section of Triangulations. Maybe Sandi can shed more light on this. Good...

  • Spring in Pearland Part 2 the cutting

Finished cutting all the units. I used the TRI REX tools as shown in the instructions on line. Thank You sew much for offering that option. I'm not a fan of cutting from templates, and hey when you have the tools use them.. right??
