I agree, as a quilter, I'm always learning new techniques or still working to improve those I've already learned. I love taking classes because, not only do I get to socialize with great women who love quilting as much as me. I am always learning new tips and tricks; pointers from other women who know another way, of doing things.
I have also wanted to make Christmas Ribbons! I almost started the quilt last Christmas. I recently found a background of Christmas Toile that might work so I can dig into those scraps of Christmas fabric!

Even though the pattern calls for a tan background, I plan on using a WOW because most of my Christmas prints have some white in them. All this talk about it....I might have to get my background fabric sooner than expected. :)

Thanks Dionne...I thought it would, but I tend to need confirmation/validation from experienced quilters. :) I will most certainly post pics when I actually do it. I'm on the verge of selling my house (yipee), so it will probably be a summer project.
Another favorite book of mine is Cotton Candy Quilts by Mary Mashuta, published by C&T. The sub-title is Using feed sacks, vintage & reproduction fabrics. The book is full of scrappy quilts that can only be described as "joyful." I never tire of looking at it. You can buy a print-on-demand version:
