I took this photo from one of the units when I did the tour of the resort. Whoever is lucky enough to get this room might get to see a whale tail way off in the distance, if you stare out the window long enough.
In the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
Nana: Gals what are the chances of seeing whales at this beach. I have always wanted to see whales and have never seen them in the wild. One of those bucket list things....LOL>

Nana,
Only if i was sunbathing on that beach. LOL.
lots of love

Donna B:You usually need to be up on a headland looking out to sea to see them if you are not on the water (in a boat) right next to them. That day, there were several very close into the shore...within a half mile.
That was my experience to a few years ago. The water is deep from off a headland so the whales get surprisingly close. It's quite an experience to watch them. If wanted, we could take a field trip to somewhere better to watch them. I don't think we would have to do far.

Chiliwist Valley
Frances, at our retreat there will be a pod of whales.
Patti,
Just as well im not there id scare everyone off the beach for 50miles in either direction.
So far we have 7 couples coming and 10 singles. We have room for one more couple and 3 more singles.
For the singles we have Elizabeth, Spud, Nana, Jacy, Maggie, Judy T, Kris, Andrea, Gini, and me. The single will have units 10 and 11. The average cost will be $106 per single if we have 13 singles coming, and depending on which of the two units. (one is a bit nicer than the other one.)
Unit 9: will be Marge and Lee, and Judy E. and her DH. $305 per couple.
Unit 12: Donna and DH, Jan and DH. $382.50 per couple.
In the Lower Carousel is Nancy and Randy. $660.
Unit 8, we have two couples, Bertie and DH, and Karla and DH. If we get a third couple, it will be $257 per couple. If not, it will be $385 per couple.
I know the number of bed rooms and how many each unit can sleep, but I do not know the break up of single and queen beds. I will find that out so we can start placing the singles, some of whom don't want to share a bed.
I do need half by January 1. As I have to pay half of the charges left, and I have already paid $300 deposit. I know this is early, but I can't take on the cost myself. If you do pay, I will reimburse you if someone else takes your place.
Let me know if I have missed someone, or if you want your name removed.
Patti, if we fly in are there machines available to rent or something? If so, I would like to be added to your list of singles but would prefer to have a single bed as I have problems with movement..
The location is gorgeous and I have a lifelong friend in Oregon that I could visit either before or after the retreat. It would be perfect.
Kathy
Kathy, you are on the list. And those of us that drive bring extra machines for those flying. I don't think it will be a problem. Look forward to seeing you!
You will love all these ladies. They are the greatest.
Vinton, Virginia
I just talked with my friend in Medford and she would love to come with me. She doesn't sew but loves the beach and would enjoy spending the 5 days with the group. Do you have anything left that would accomodate 2 people? Sort of like what you put couples into? Her name is Roberta and if this type of accomodation is available then put her on the list.
Nana..
It sounds wonderful and I am sure I will enjoy it. Now all I have to do is stay alive and well for a year. Don't usually plan that far out at my age, but what the heck!
I need to add that my friend and I don't do stairs. I have had knee replacement and Roberta is 84 and has knee and hip replacement. Just two old coots looking for a great time. So this might affect the availability.
There are individuals with specific needs. I think with a little room shuffling we can do it. I will figure it out later, after choir practice.
I have some really good news ... I was telling Lewis how fast the Oregon trip is filling up and he asked If Patti had my name on the list, I told him that Patti is tentatively holding me a spot until I figure out finances. He looked at me and said you tell her to put you on the list. You will be going to Oregon. WooHoo....I am on cloud 9. To be able to come and have fun with all of you again and to see someplace I have never been at the sametime is a dream come true.
that's awesome.
