Seems there is enough interest to start a discussion.  Any ideas?

We've discussed this in open forums and there seems to be plenty of interest. I've spoke to the Stage Stop Inn in Choteau and can get the confernece room for our use for a reasonable fee.  There's a small catorers prep kitchen in the conference area and microwaves/mini fridge in each of the rooms for meal preps, plus several restaurants in the area. They have a pool and hot tub, etc.

Choteau is 80 miles south of Glacier Nat'l Park, along the Rocky Mountain Front. There are plenty of oppertunities for hiking and fishing in the area for bored husbands.

If you opt to fly in, you'd have to fly to Great Falls, which is 75 miles away. The train comes into Shelby which is also about 75 miles (in the opposite direction). I'm willing to pick up folks comingin by those means, but we'll have to co-ordinate so no one gets stuck waiting.

There are 2 quilt shops in Shelby and 5 or 6 in Great Falls.  Sadly,The quilt shop in Choteau closed before Christmas.

Quilters are people who strip so they won't go topless.

CC, you are on my bucket list to meet in person so if Kris and J go maybe I can hook up with them again so I'm not traveling alone.  Put me on the list of maybe's and we'll see what happens.  Thanks.

Roxana:

Quilt retreats are cheap vacations.  Being retired, he needs to get away from home at least 4 weeks a year or he goes a bit stir-crazy.  We're fairly new to the location where we built our retirement home, and he has not built a large circle of friends here which is frustrating for an extrovert like him.

Randy is good at entertaining himself on these retreats, and the destinations have offered a good variety of things for him to do & see.  It is nice when other guys with similar interests are coming along.  Notice that he's not coming to Branson with me this year.  He feels like he's seen/done most of what that town has to offer at that time of year.   He's really looking forward to hiking in Montana.  He surprised me the other day and said he'd like to do Virginia Beach again.

If we are discussing dates, the third week (Sept. 14-20)  would be my preference, but I'll make the second week work if that's what it ends up being.  The second week just seems early this year with the month starting on a Monday.

We can help with picking up quilters either in Shelby or Great Falls.  We'll adjust our driving route to whichever location you need us at.

Leslie, I think to get even you should show up at Marie's place in Florida unannounced and splash water from the pool on her!  Sounds inviting, doesn't it?!
