Diana, when I saw you'll be at this retreat I started a bag of scraps for you.  Then I started thinking... what if she's not collecting scraps any more...?  Should I continue to save for you?

Hi everyone.  Now that the Oregon retreat is finished and hopefully I will be rested up in another day or so I will be able to start working on this retreat again.  I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Branson.

Don't forget those deposits folks.

Glad you are home safe and rested, Nana. I'm looking forward to the Branson retreat as well but if the caliber of work is similar to that at the Oregon one, I may be out of my league! Can't wait all the same!

There are quilters of all levels and all speeds at the retreats, Roxana.  I'm one of the pokey, middle-of-the-road type.  Have you started your fall HST quilt?  Maybe we could work on those together.

I had it all on the design board about a month ago before I started working on Union Soldier and before I started WORKING! The embroidery part of my job is taking up some serious play time but I'm having fun all the same. ... I may keep the HSTs for Branson. I'm also thinking about doing MQ8 at Branson if I can get it cut out before then. You know it will be here like a blink of an eye! ... You always have such good ideas and know how to make a gal feel at ease. Thank you, Nancy!

Hello all - Since I'm new to this group's retreat, thought I would ask:  do you all set up a mystery quilt?  I have a few of them stashed away from our guild's retreat weekends, and if you're interested I could set it up.  I would give everyone the cutting steps before they came, and those interested could bring their kits and then pick up steps for the mystery quilt during the retreat.

Mary T

We don't usually set up any type of mystery quilt at the retreats but if anyone is interested it would be fine to do.   We have occasionally had an ugly fabric challenge that can be a lot of fun and not take long to do.   Someone brings enough ugly fabric for everyone to use and then each person does their own block.  If you check out the thread in the message boards about the End of the Oregon Trail you will see an example of an ugly block challenge.
