Mary don't forget to put Nana back on the list ,she is coming Barbara
EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!
There will be 22 quilters for blocks. Mine are done just need to sign them. My handwriting is terrible so I was going to use embroidery but it's too big from what I could figure out so a pen it is.
Classes:
Quilt as you go with Sharon. All you would need is 4 sandwiched and quilted squares, trimmed to about10-12 inches square, plus 3/8 yd of fabric to use as the sashing - and your walking foot.
Applique Class:
Diana has graciously agreed to teach a binding class and I will be the first to sign up for that! I have to say I'm surprised at the number of people wanting in on these classes. I thought I was the only one needing help.:
Free Motion with Gini and Barbara: Bring at least an 18" square sandwiched fabric (light color) and dark thread to practice on. Bring your walking foot and darning foot for your machine as well.
Mary
I will be glad to help people with anything they would like to learn....that is if I know how. And if not maybe we can just figure it out together....LOL>

Hi Mary,
I sent you a message privately, but wanted to let everyone else know that I finally got my check in the mail yesterday. Hopefully you will have it by Saturday or Monday. I'm also bringing as many dozen fresh eggs as my girls will lay!! I'm planning on about 5 dozen. If that is not enough, let me know.
Also,
What is everyone doing as far as their block? Ohio's flower is a carnation which seems so boring to do a block on. Any good ideas?
Melody:What is everyone doing as far as their block?
I was going to do PA's flower but couldn't find a pattern I liked so I picked a flower I love that is in my garden and am making that flower. I don't think it needs to be one specific flower. Just pick one you like. I got a couple sets of patterns from Jeanne R. Prue's site. But I bet if you put flower quilt patterns into your search engine many suggestions would come up. Good luck and have fun!
Ladies...FLOWERS is the theme...you are at liberty to do anything you want...favorite, state, block named after, embroidered, ANYTHING. Let your creative juices flow!
Mary, put me down for the quilt-as-you-go class please. I have been wanting to learn how to put pre-quilted blocks together for awhile.
Melody, I just did a very simple flower and paper pieced it . My state flower had to be appliqued and it was just to much for this many squares.LOL Barbara
Mary --- I just had a call from Maria Holloway. Apparently she forgot to take the tentative reservation that I had put on her retreat book for May out. I explained what had happened and she was very gracious. Anyhow - I mentioned that you guys were having a retreat up there in June. If you will contact her, she would love to have you all come and visit at her quaint shop over in Cosby. She will do a demo or two and have door prizes for you. Plus, as Diana will tell you, there is a great restaurant just down the road from her shop.
