Ok Gini, WE will get something worked out . Guess I or we need to let Mary know about this , and to let everyone intrested know to bring their walking foot and darning foot to retreat . BArbara
Mary I to am going to work with Gini on the FMQ class, I can do some of this when she is not there. I to am just learning but I am will to help anyone who need to start at the beginning. Since I do the Group I think I can help LOL Barbara
For the binding class, walking foot if you have one. I'm going to have some placemats for you all to practice on. If you already have a quilt that needs the binding, bring it along. For binding, I usually cut my strips at 2 1/4 inch. Some like to cut theirs at 2 1/2 inch. It's a personal thing so what makes you comfortable. If you like to hand stitch the binding to the back, I'll show you how I do it and it won't show. Or if you want to sew your binding on the back and bring it to the front and machine stitch it, I'll show you that as well. You'll have lots of options so it will be fun.

Mary, Please sign me up for the binding and FMQ lessons. I don't want to miss anything I can learn from more accomplished quilters. Thanks for all you are doing for this retreat. I'm so excited.
Good morning, Ladies...As usual you guys are just too into this retreat (tee hee...). Nor looking forward to it or anything are we : ). I'm taking an online class through Craftsy on the free motion quilting. Maybe I can kinda help with that class also but I probably need to be a participant more than likely. I grew up watching my grandmother hand quilt and that is my eventual goal to do that instead of using the machine but for now with work and just quilting when I can, "shortcuts" are the way I go.
Thank you, folks, for being my link to the sanity (quilting).

Classes:
Applique Class:
Diana has graciously agreed to teach a binding class and I will be the first to sign up for that! I have to say I'm surprised at the number of people wanting in on these classes. I thought I was the only one needing help.:
Free Motion with Gini and Barbara: Bring at least an 18" square sandwiched fabric (light color) and dark thread to practice on. Bring your walking foot and darning foot for your machine as well.
You talking about Branson, Missouri?
The project I am bringing with me is a simple rail fence quilt-as-you-go using the sashing method. I'd be happy to offer a class, if anyone is interested. All you would need is 4 sandwiched and quilted squares, trimmed to about10-12 inches square, plus 3/8 yd of fabric to use as the sashing - and your walking foot.
