Nana:

Judy

I love this quilt.  Do you have a name for the center block third row down.  It is a really neat block.

Thanks Nana. Barbara Brackman, in her Borderland in Butternut & Blue book, calls it Order No. 11. Wouldn't it make an awesome quilt?  In case that's not the block you're referring to, here are all the names as listed in the book. (by the way, if I get it quilted this is the quilt that will travel with me to Oregon as my blankie)

L-R starting with the top row:

Crosses & Losses     North Star     Underground Railroad

Indian Plume       Missouri Blocks     Southern Moon

Memory Wreath   Order No. 11    Southern Star

Mothers Dream    Crown of Thorns   Missouri Puzzle

Judy I think the pattern book is The Union Soldier Sampler.

It's the Loyal Union Sampler. It's HERE on Amazon.

I pre-ordered it, and I think Frances did too. Maybe we can make it as a group, it's always more fun when others are doing it too.

I was sort of thinking the same thing.   Of course it could be done as a group project in this group since it meets the civil war criteria.   But we can do it either way.

I have preordered the book as well. I think we should do it as a group. If we do I hope I do better than I did with the farmers wife. I failed miserably keeping up with that one.

BT W, Barbara has asked me to watch over this group until she can get back to it. So if anyone needs anything, tho I can't imagine what that might be, just call my name. I'll come running.

Elaine

Don't feel bad...I never did finish the Farmer's Wife either.   I got so made at the author after the fit she thru over the different groups making the quilt that I just put it away.   I know cut off my nose to spite my face but I was really angry....LOL

I did finish mine (well quilt top!) but the book was badly written, not user friendly I thought. I gave mine away knowing I'd never use it again.

Jennifer Chiverini's books are much better.

My FWS (and everything else) is waiting on me to get back to the sewing room.

Now here we are talking of starting another group project I can't ignore no matter how hard I try. Frances mentioned this book a while back and I tried not to commit but I'm in. Don't hold it against me if I don't get much done LOL.

Sounds like we're all in the same boat, too many projects, not enough time. But, well, what's one more project. Eh?

Hi everyone!  Elaine are you out there!  I agree I need another project as a good excuse to buy more fabric!
