EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!
MelodyP MO/KS: I promised myself I had to get certain things done first and then start it.
I've been telling myself the same thing for quite some time now but something always comes up that I can't say no to.
Well I'm going to be busy today ,I printed off BB 's CW BOm and then I printed of Kay Englands first two blocks .so I'm going to see how much I can get finsihed today. LOL wish me luck .. Barbara
Gwen , thank you for the lovely card , I got it yesterday . Barbara
I can't find the May Birthday discussion thread so I thought I'd post it here. Since getting home, I've been putting my sewing room together and gathered all the lovely birthday blocks I received from all of you. Wanted to share this with you as well as thank you all once again:
Beautiful blocks Jenn. This will be gorgeous when you get it all together.
Beautiful collection of blocks Jenn.
Jenn, these look great , I love them ,I have enough to make two quilts ,and then some .. Not sure how I'm going to do the second one . have the first one all set up to quilt . Barbara
Barbara, I thought about doing that same thing - making two quilts from all the blocks. Then I saw this quilt and layout and thought I might be able to put them all into one quilt. I think this one is set on point, with the pieced sashings and 9 patch cornerstones:
What do y'all think? Would this work?
Jenn ,I like it . very pretty .I think yours would look great like this .. All youcan do is try ,set it up on your design board and see if it will work .
Jennsquilts:What do y'all think? Would this work?
I like this layout too. This was from Barbara Brackman's block of the week last year. The book was recently recently released.
Kris, thank you for letting me know the book is on the market! It'll be so much easier calculating the sashing strips and 9 patch size variations if I have the original dimensions to play off of. I use up more than enough brain cells at work, didn't want to have to sit down and work this out on my own too. That's what makes quilting "work" for me - and that's not why I quilt. :-)
I got all my birthday blocks from last years made into a quilt top. To all of you wonderful ladies who made me a block (or 2) they really made my quilt wonderful. I received 16 blocks, but I didn't want a square quilt so I made 4 additional ones.
