I've completed Block 10. At first I wasn't going to do it as it looked like way too many curves. But I went back and read the directions (imagine that!) and it's all applique. I admit I didn't follow the directions which are for hand applique. I machine appliqued. I didn't do templates as I traced the designs directly onto the applique paper so didn't need to add the 1/4" to the patterns. For those who do hand applique you will need to make templates and add the 1/4".
In the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
Beautiful block. Nice work Judy.
Thanks Kris. I love the design. I might, MIGHT, do this one again and try hand applique. Perhaps I'll bring this block with to Branson and beg for help on hand applique.
Wow, Judy. I love this block, love your fabric choices.
I have had to put mine aside, until after Thanksgiving, as I have a very late quilt delivery to make on T-giving Day. Just hope I get 'er done in time.
Gorgeous block Judy. I still love the red.
Bonita: Gorgeous block Judy. I still love the red.
Thanks Bonita. I remembered the comment before and that's why I used it again. I will use it in one more block before I'm done.
Judy T-Bellingham: Thanks Kris. I love the design. I might, MIGHT, do this one again and try hand applique. Perhaps I'll bring this block with to Branson and beg for help on hand applique.
You'll definitely get help with hand appliqué at the retreat.
Judy this is stunning . beautiful job . I love the colors.
EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!
Thanks Barbara. I also did block 11 but it turned out horrible. Guess it is destined to be a cat pad. I will not making it over. I think I'll make one of the flower appliqué blocks to replace it.
Judy, your Block 10 is beautiful. After my misfortune in cutting my pieces wrong and my blocks turning out too big, I have not gotten back to these blocks. You have inspired me.

I couldn't relax yesterday evening while watching the election returns so I worked on the last two blocks. Block 13, Crown of Thorns has a mistake in the rotary cutting section. Piece C- It says to cut 2 light squares 4-3/4". This is wrong. Use the C template to get 8 triangles the correct size. I could not figure out what was wrong as my C triangles were way to big and I only had 4 of them.
Ah well. Here's Block 12. It went together easily. The back ground is more creamy than shows in the photo.
Block 13. I reversed the background and made it dark instead of light. I had a hard time keeping my brain in gear with the change especially with the mistake in the directions. The blue and the red are both darker than it shows. And, now that I see it in the photo, I made a boo boo in the top little goose. Dang, I hadn't noticed that.
Judy, these are great. This book sure seems to have some errors, huh?
Judy these are fantastic, I love them I love your colors. thanks for making us aware of the error . I will make sure I sure the templates.
Beautiful blocks Judy and thanks for the correction. I guess I'll just use the templates.
