Zsofia, it helps to use a very small needle and using the whip stitch ,take very tiny bites of fabric like in applique  Some will still show but not near as many.   you can also use silk thread ,it will blend in and not show at all  or use invisible thread , any of these will work .. Your  first flower  is beautiful  and I really can't see stitches . Barbara

Very pretty Zsofia!  The only way to "hide" stitches is to use a thread that matches the fabric closely and take the smallest stitches you can.   Your fabric is great and you can always look back at this hex flower and see how far you've come!

Zsofia, I love your flower, such happy colors!

Frances, what kind of needle do you use?  Yours looks a lot longer than the one I'm using and would be a lot easier to handle.

Hi,

I know what you mean about the stitches showing and that buged me too so I tried the ladder stitch when joining my two pieces and I really think it is hidden much better I with I had two to compare for you but not handy see this page ladder stitch

also I did some reading and I for my appliqué  I am trying silk thread, now I can't afford to buy all the colors so I am trying a light gray and these tumbling block are bright greens so I will show a picture when I am finished but I have to say it is a pleasure to sew with this silk thread, wow what a difference and I do think the stitches are very difficult to see.

Frances, Barbara, Erin and Marie thanks for the encouraging words. I was really 'hasitant' on hand sewing but find it pretty relaxing and convenient since I can take it with me.

Jacy and Sandy tanks for the tip on the piecing I will use it for the secound flower.

I will post pictures.
