Please use this thread to discuss blocks 16, 17 & 18.
Post photos, frustrations, tips and tricks, oohs and aahs.
Here is Week 16. I haven't added book titles yet, but plan to on the green book. Not sure if it was me or the pattern that makes the broomstick look 'broken' in the middle. If you want yours to look different, that is the only tricky spot on this block.
I am skipping Week 17 for the time being. Still trying to decide if I want to do it 'as is', change the block a little, or replace it completely.
Here is Week 18. Very quick and easy block! I wanted to showcase something in that nice diamond shape. Couldn't find the piece of fabric I was looking for, but when I saw my snakeskin I just had to use it! Sutle reminder that Harry spoke 'snake language' (parselmouth?).
Now I have to go find that other piece of material so I can use it later! If I just can't find it I guess I'll be forced to hunt for it at the LQS. Drat!
Max
Nice blocks Max. The snake skin is a nice touch.
Robin
Max, It sure is tough when your arm gets twisted and you have to go to the LQS LOL
The snakeskin pulls in the parselmouth as well as the Basilisk. Fantastic!! Love that Red book with the stripes!

I love it Max. The snakeskin is a winning touch. I think parseltongue is the language and Harry is a parselmouth (he can speak it).

I like the fabrics in this one too Max. That striped book on the right is awesome.
Thank you all for your kind words! These blocks were fun, and went together easily.
Here are my 16, 17 and 18. I replaced 18 with a dragon.
In the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
Judy,
Love your blocks. Your dragon looks great.
Robin: Judy, Love your blocks. Your dragon looks great. Robin
Thanks Robin, He is a little cutie. I know he has a name but I can't recall it right off the top of my head.
Nice work Judy. I love your fabrics and the dragon is adorable.
Thanks Kris. I'm sitting here looking at Harry who is tacked up on the wall waiting for me to get up the guts to start the quilting.
Thank you for posting your pics here. I had forgotten how really beautiful your blocks are! When do you have to have your quilt finished for the show?
Thanks Max. It needs to be done early August. I think the 10th. This is a regional fair, Northwest Washington Fair.
Hi Judy,
Very cool blocks.... Love the swurley blue fabric and your Baby Norbert. :) He is cute. Great job on him.
