MNJen:

That is a good idea...hadn't thought of that.  I'm still figuring out if I want to try using the embroidery fonts in this newfangled machine or not to do the lettering.  I'm afraid I might spoil the books pieced together already and have to redo.  I recall lots of good approaches sprinkled in the first batch of ladies who did the PoD...will have to review as I get closer to that phase.  As for me, I'm punching out blocks this week as I have to go underground again next week as #2 son has spring break  :o).  Here's 14.  Slimmed the wand and went for some neat owl fabric I found.  I'm blessed to live near a discount fabric warehouse...thrill of the hunt going through there!

Adorable.  Especially love the owls!  The other fabric reminds me of peacock feathers for some reason.... :-)

Here is my block 10.  These will become Harry's spell books, grades 1 - 6.

Woot woot!  Great job kicking out the book set Dara!  Your background fabric really sets them off nicely.

Very nice Dara. I have that fabric in blue. I like your green with the background.

Thanks Kris.  I've seen the blue. It is very pretty.  I also have it in pink which I used as my background for the Craftsy BOM last year & which still needs to be finished. :-)

Thanks Jen.  To me the background kinda looks like concrete or stone.  I'm not sure yet how to finish off the bookcase, but since I'm not there yet, it is on the back burner LOL

I jazzed up #15 with Rowena's crown and omitted Tom Riddle's diary.  I'm going to have to outline the bottle a bit to get it to stand out a bit from how some of the adjacent fabric muddied up the shape.
