Robin:Your compass is very pretty. I love the quilting you did.
Thanks Robin. By the way, I just looked at your gallery. That Baby Hooty Owl quilt is just adorable.
In the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
Thanks, that was a baby present for a friends first Grandchild.
Robin
I finally picked up my add-a-quarter ruler and Carol Doak paper over the weekend at a quilt show. Now I'm armed and dangerous! LOL! Now I'm ready to begin an entire paper pieced quilt!
Mooresville, NC
LOL Joy. I love your enthusiasm.
Kris - Is there a way to enlarge the Mariner's Compass pattern to 24" with out the borders? I would like to use it as a center block for a BOM quilt I am trying to finish but can't figue out how to change the pattern.
Kim,
do you have a copy centre nearby that can enlarge the pattern for you? This isn't my pattern but if I can re-draw it in EQ I should be able to enlarge it. The pieces may not fit on one sheet of paper though.
I'm at work but I'll see what I can do later tonight or in the morning.
Thanks Kris. Can I run it thru a copy machine and enlarge it? If I can what % do I use?
to enlarge your block use the following formula to determine the enlargement percentage.
(Block size wanted ÷ current block size) × 100
After subtracting the border sizes from the finished size it should work out almost 104% if my calculations are correct.
Thanks Kris! Now I just have to buy fabric! And lots of it!
Last year I decided to not buy any fabric and only use my stash; unless of course I needed to complete a quilt. I don't know that I will ever do that again! LOL! My stash has dwindled down so much that I can't seem to find enough matching fabric for one quilt!

I tried that Joy. In fact I'm still telling myself that but it's not working out really well.
You're welcome Kim.
What paper pieced projects is everyone working on this week? I just found out my LQS has a $3.99 yd clearance sale....hoping to find the materials for my first quilt made entirely from paper piecing! I am also working on hand quilting the MC that I made.

Dang it! I have yet to even begin attempting a PP project! Just too much else going on right now. Considering it's winter, I'm baffled as to what happened. Usually that's the time of year I can spend on "me projects" but, it's not working out that way this year. Note to self: Get our the scraps tonight and see what I can come up with!! What's an easy starter block/project?? Need ideas folks.
I am hopeing to do the pattern next that Kris has put on here , but I have to do some ( yuk ) house cleaning first LOL Barbara
EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!
