I decided to submit my quilt although I'm not sure it is eligible for voting because I chose to change the layout.  But, I've seen others that have been changed.  This is what I call a 'Napper', It is more narrow than the standard size quilt (64 X 88) which I find is easier to cuddle up with on the couch without the excess width.  It is going to my 'mom' for her to cuddle up with during the cold Minnesota winter months.  I'm going to just do the tie knots and not have it top stitched.

I love this pattern Nana and I look forward to doing one according the directions after the holidays.  Everyone has done such beautiful works of art and I've enjoy following your progress over the weeks.

Can't wait for the next quilt Nana.. my friend Sandy and I have done many of the Mystery Quilts and have enjoyed them all.  This is the first one that I have followed from beginning to voting..

Good luck everyone......... thanks....... Peggy

Love your look.

Hello to all outside the box thinkers ... how about including your layout instructions ???  Block 1 & Block 2 could be like ...

row 1:  1 2 1 2 1

row 2:  1 2 2 1

isn't it amazing the variations you can achieve with just 2 blocks? I really like this idea.

Thanks Annette, Bootz, IGOSEW and Sherrie.  I cut and sewed the segments the same up to Step 3. On Step 4, I just put the 'solid' 2 1/2' squares together in the center for the first block and made and 'X' instead of a diamond out of the second block.  I must say, someone else suggested the 'out of the box' idea and I jumped on the suggestion, which is what made me start playing with the pieces.

I have made many 'napper's out of all kinds of patterns.  Unless I am decorating a bedroom, they seem more practical and are actually easier to work with when doing the quilting and tying  the knots.  I don't have a 'long arm' so 90% of what I make is tied.

I am going to put 'mama's' together tonight and get the binding on.  I picked a light green for the binding and the backing.

Happy quilting everyone.. see you on the next MQ..

It looks interesting the way you changed it.
