When I was a college senior my roommate and I each had plans to make a Fall quilt.  I even had the fabric.  But I just couldn't face appliquéing a quilt worth of oak leaves! Eventually that fabric got re-purposed.  We had our 40th anniversary Homecoming this October--and I finally have made my Fall quilt.  The apples run along the sides of this generously sized queen quilt.  I appliquéd leaves on 6 of them as a nod to the quilt that wasn't!  I'll will do free-motion leaves for the other apples when I do the quilting.

You can't really see it in this photo, but the pattern of the 2nd red fabric is actually an apple design  It's like looking into a bushel basket of apples after a happy afternoon in the orchard! That was the inspiration for the apple borders!

Thanks Nana for this fun pattern!

Your borders really make this quilt outstanding! A perfect idea for the fabric you used.
