Quilt nearly queen size (by the time I added the borders) and will be used in our reading nook. I have the rest of the blocks to make another quilt too, instead of making one big quilt!   My fabrics were cottons in red, hot pink, white and black with tiny hearts of red, pink and purple.  I used the 12" blocks to make a smaller version of the full sized quilt by sewing five horizontal rows and five vertical rows.  The black fabric was for a  1-1/2" inner border.  I also ncorporated all 4 of my colors in the piano key border.  The empty spaces in the diamonds were calling to me, so I machine embroidered red hearts in the centers that mimic redwork.   I also made smaller 5" pinwheel blocks which I used in each of the 4 corners of the quilt.  We have a queen sized sleep sofa for our grandchildren and this quilt will be warm and cozy for that room.  Thank you Nana for the fun mystery quilt!

Beautiful.  I like the additional color and the embroidered hearts are a great touch.

Beautiful!!!  I wish I had enough fabric to do same type of border.  I love how your quilt turned out!

Very pretty, Laura. The piano key border is great. I'm sure your grandchildren (and everyone else) will enjoy snuggling under this one.

Thank you all for your nice comments.  And it is so interesting to me how everyone sees quilts differently! I can see that in all the quilts I'm enjoying in the media section!   Now that I look at mine again, I agree...it DOES have that chocolate covered candy look!  :)
