Felt good enuf to do some sewing today.  But when I started putting pieces together it dawned om me I had mixed up #1 & #2 so had to start the diamond over and now loojs like this. Got 7 blocks done today.

Hello from Australia.........love them both. Decisions, decisions.     But I think the pieced one comes out ahead!

Hello from Australia.......I did exactly the same thing.     Couldn't wait to get all the pieces sewn individually ....I always drag the chain in everything I seem to do, but get there in the end,so just had to have a sneak peek!  It's so interesting to see all the variations and I like some a lot more than my choices, but that's the mystery thing coming in to play, isn't it.

I noticed the space between the diagonal squares is different. Kind of interesting though. Like the purple!

Not sure yet on how I'm doing borders yet, but I think I'm adding different fabrics in the borders....

Speaking of Borders, how do I figure out how much fabric to buy for a narrow border, 1", and about a 4 or 5 inch outer border plus binding.  I need to use a different border than my fabrics as well.  I wish I had one of those calculators that does this for you.

You should need: 3/8 yd. for your 1 inch border and 1 5/8 yd. for a 5 inch or 1 1/8 yd. for a 4 inch...the binding 3/4yd. cut in 10  2 1/2 inch strips

I started putting my final border on yesterday and my power went off. Power company said it woud be off several hours so I went shopping. Bought a kids cookbook for my 5 year old grand niece and a piece of cupcake fabric to make her an apron. Her party is Saturday so all the time in the world to sew, lol. I am going in now to hopefully finish the border.

You all are posting some pretty pictures. I really love seeing all the variations of this quilt!
