The step is up now at 12:20 est.    My colors don't show up well in the pics so if you have trouble discerning where each piece goes let me know.

I have downloaded step 3.  I am so far behind.  I finally got my fabric cut tonight.  This retirement life is messing with my sewing time!

I jus got up and haven't had my first cup of coffee yet so it is hard to distinguish fabric 2 & 3. Of course it is hard to remember which fabric is 2 and which is 3 even though mine are very different. LOL, I won't do any sewing till after work so maybe by then my brain will be working. Happy sewing ladies.

I am having trouble distinguishing between the colors and I don't remember which was your fabric 1 or fabric 2. Thanks for doing this for us, Nana!!!

I've been up since 3 :30 am and just now remembered it was step 3 day. I will have to check it out closer when I get home from work. Thanks Nana!

Good morning, Nana and thanks for the next step; it looks like fun!  Are there any specific directions for pressing?  Also, are the any specific steps for the sewing process as to which ones we sew together and when or is neither question important for the assembly of this quilt?

I know that fabric #1 is the one that has the most number of HSTs.  Works for me.  LOL

Nana, can you tell me if this looks right?  My #1 fabric is the paisley print and #2 is brown.  Hate to sew it up and find out it is wrong?  My second block set is what is confusing me.

Helen

The stripe in the first block should be paisley and the right upper corner should be brown.    The second block the upper HST should be paisley and then turn the HST in the second row around.

I tried to press the seams away from the HST units just because of the bulk.  I sewed the top row of the block then the bottom and then connected the 2.   It really doesn't matter which way the go together.   It really doesn't matter though.  You can assemble the blocks however you like.

Linda

Fabric #1 is the solid green and Fabric #2 is the blue/green mottled.

Sorry, Nana, but I'm still confused.  The picture in the instructions doesn't look like 3 fabrics to me, so I can't tell what should be where.

If I understand it right, on the 1st block, there should be a stripe of fabric #1 and a stripe of the backfround.  The oddball corners should be backfround & fabric 2.

It's the 2nd block that I'm really lost about.  Square 1 should be fabric 2, below that is background.  Top right block is fabric 1/bg with the bg being on the outside.  Then below that is fab 2/fab 1 where the fab 1 joins with the block above to create a half stripe.

Does that sound right?  If not, I'll take a picture of mine tonight and post it so you can straighten me out.

Susie

That sounds right.   Lay out your blocks and post a pic for me with the fabrics labeled.   That way I can be sure we are on the same page.   I am really sorry the pics of my blocks didn't show the colors very well.   They looked better on the camera.
