Karla your colours are not drab! They are soft and calming. Very nice blocks by the way.

Pat your blocks breathe energy and movement! Very nice.
Bootz I lone your blue and white blocks...mmmm I'm sure I can find room for it right here!
Jo very nice blocks. This will make a quilt filled with warmth and cuddles.
Nana thank you so much for planning and designing this quilt. It looks great and I just can't wait to have time to make it.
Mine looks like Christmas too and I didn't intend it to. Like you said 'go figure'.
Your quilt is absolutely beautiful! Wow!
Thanks Jan.. not my usual colors but something different now and then is a good thing.
Thanks again..... Peg
Peggy looking beautiful.
Well, Step 4 is done! Count me in as one of those who is very excited about the Strip Tube Ruler. I impressed myself with the uniformity of my blocks! Not perfect, but so very much better than the old way. Like Nana said, there is also a wonderful advantage to the bias edge when it comes to matching seams. I decded to go for a masculine look with the red, black, and gray because this will be for my Dad. It probably doesn't qualify as "Tranquility" - maybe I'll call it "Simplicity". Note: with such a stark contrast between the black and grey, every little mismatch shows like crazy - especially when it is on the outside edge of the open diamond. I just ordered a couple of yards of the Marcia Derse fabric to use in the borders - it's colors were a perfect match, but I only had a fat quarter from a mixed bag. After doing MQ8 and MQ9, I must say that I am addicted to mystery quilts. My husband laughs at me on Thursday nights when I'm trying to get the next clue early (cuz I live in the west).
Thanks, Nana, for making this fun and thanks to everyone else for your input. I have learned an incredible amount about techniques and tools, as well as seeing other quilters' ideas.
Looks nice Sherrie. It has an asian/Japanese look to me. Not looking at the whole thing but it does have a relaxing look to it to me With the border material. it is like chaos (hope that isnt to harsh of a word, not meant to be) but then the inner is balanced giving it reflection and tranquility. Hope that makes sense

Beautiful Peggy. Sherrie your blocks and border look fabulous!
I don't know why my blocks didn't post the other day. Here they are:
I am loving everyone's choices of color! Nana I love this pattern!! Thanks so much again!
You may be onto something there - the border fabric is called "Red Lacquer Bamboo", implying an Asian theme. You have a good eye for the overall effect - I was just matching colors.
Helen, I love your brown and paisley blocks!
Pretty blocks Peggy. It does look a bit like Christmas.
