Finally got Step 3 finished, and Step 4 started. Here are my first 2 blocks.
How come when I see everyone else's blocks, my always seem so drab to me? I'm going to have to liven it up with the border....hmmm, what can I do?
Karla, your blocks arenot drab, I think they're beautiful. I like the soft look to them.
I don't see drab. I see soft and romantic.
I am so excited to see the two blocks from everyone! I just finished squaring up all of my HST's (I've been a little behind)...but seeing the next two steps has motivated me... I have ALL DAY tomorrow to sew, and hoping I'll be able to catch up.
Kris, Valerie, Christine, Karla! Just love the colors! So much fun to see everyone's color selection, and they are all unique and beautiful...... Debbie, (birthday buddy) hope you are feeling better!!!!!
Your colors are very soft and pretty! Not drab at all!
Valerie:OK I caved in. I had to put a block together even though I only just started sep 3.
Love your colors.
Karla:How come when I see everyone else's blocks, my always seem so drab to me?
Remember the name of the MQ is tranquility. Your colors are very pretty.
I am still trimming my HST....but now I've sorted them into A & B piles... I have 1/2 of my blocks trimmed, and sewn into "2-patches". They are ready to run through the machine...but I just sewed my first few and I'm obviously too tired to match up seams and points...so tomorrow, I'll finish Step 3 and 4 on one set....then it'll be back to trimming the other half of the HST. (Does this make ANY sense?? Hoping to offer an alternative to others who are as far behind as me!) Of course, I took the super easy way out and sewed the blocks with the 2 solid blocks (less trimming LOL).
So...tomorrow, hopefully, I'll have a couple blocks to show!
Well, I have 21 blocks done, four more to go since I am making a smaller version. Then I have to square them up. I have to wait on that until the light is just right otherwise I un-square up, lol. That getting old thing again. Anyway, I didn't post pics of my blocks cuz my camera was hiding, found her so here they are.
Karla, I don't think your blocks are bland, they really say "tranquility". I like the soft pastels. I tend to like everyone else's blocks more than mine. Mine do not say "tranquility" but it is for Quilts for Kids so it needed to be bright. When I have a little more cash I want to buy fabric to make myself a tranquil one. I love, love, love the tube method of making HSTs and will no longer be afraid of patterns with a lot of them. Thanks again Nana! I know I am not the only one who feels this way.
Very bright and fun fabrics, Pat! Love it!
Karla - your blocks are beautiful!! I would not 'liven up' the borders at all. Stay with your beautiful pallette.
