Nana, step three doesn't call for the smaller squares that we cut to be used yet ?  Am I right on that.

The second block that is shown uses 1 background smaller square and 1 fabric 2.  These were the 3 1/2" squares that were cut in the first step.

I have downloaded step 3 girls, but I am still packing, so I haven't started cutting or sewing.  I know you will all be finished by the time I get started, but in some ways I am glad, because seeing your blocks in step 3, I have changed my mind about the background and fabric 1.  I am still using the same fabrics, but switching which is which.

Very pretty Sheila.  Lots of ambition too.  I never thought they were the same, just thought good! we didn't seem to have an overachiever yet, and now we do!

Sheila,

Gee, but you're ambitious!!!  Where do you find the time? All three are beautiful combinations.

Here are my blocks for step 3. The tan is my background fabric.  The brown is my #2 fabric and the coral is #3.  I ready to start sewing.  Good luck everyone!

Very pretty Jo.  Your colors would look great in my living room next to the one I am making :-)

Jo

These are beautiful.  I love those fabrics.  If you should decide you don't like your quilt I will make it a good home.

Peggy:

Sorry, make that 6 1/2' trimmed.

So part of Step 3 is to square these to 6 1/2"??

MTAnn

I always square up after each step.  You can do it however you usually do it.   These segments should measure 6 1/2"

Marilyn B:

Thank you txsueh, much eaier to see now.  I still have a lot of pressing and trimming before I can actually sew but here is what mine will look like.  I love all the colour combinations you guys are posting

.

I'm not sure if anyone else pointed this out, but the upper right corner of your first block (the one with 2 solid squares in it) should be your background. I love your colors.

I'm not even close to finished with all of my HSTs, but I couldn't wait to put at least one of each block together.

Your blocks are looking great!  As for me I'm doing alot of unsewing keep twisting one of the fabric pieces. Mine I think will be bland didn't use enough contrast in color.

I love everyone's fabric selections,,,after I see what everyone else has chosen I always wish I had chosen something else.  These blocks are going together easier than MQ8, at least they would if I'd ever get the rest of the HST's cut, pressed and trimmed.  I think I'm down to only needing to make another 86 of them.
