Nana:
There is an ADDENDUM to the cutting instructions.   If you plan on using the new Strip Tube Ruler you need to cut the strips at 3" instead of 3 7/8".   Also don't cut the strips into squares or triangles.   You will sew certain strips together and then cut your squares.    Cut the same number of 3" strips as you would have 3 7/8" strips.   If this is confusing just let me know.

Nana, what about the 3 1/2" strips?  I want to use my Strip Tube Ruler. I looked through all the questions and if you answered this, I missed it.

Pat

The 3 1/2" strips need to be cut into 3 1/2" squares.  Nothing changes with these.   Just the 3 7/8" strips change if you are using the Tube ruler.

I watched the Jenny Doan demo and thought it was pretty neat.  The only thing she didn't tell what size strips to use or what line on the ruler to use for different size HSTs.  I was a little confused....LOL>    But I love the technique and have found that my HSTs come out much more perfect and my points line up so much better than any other technique that I have used.

Here you go--scroll down to the second page.  I printed that page out so I can refer to it when necessary:  http://www.cozyquilt.com/PDFs/STRBonusGuide.pdf

Whether you are using a square ruler or the strip ruler, you place the point at the edge of the fabric and the bottom of the triangle on the sewing line. That sounds about as clear as mud, doesn't it?

Okay I have committed myself to doing this mystery # 9 I had been debating but what the heck one more project won't make a difference at this point.  Have fabric strips cut into squares and ready to go for step # 2 tomorrow !!

I have saved the chart from the cozy quilt site.   It is really great to have easily available.

Great fabrics Everyone.....

I just drove from Maryland to Atlanta, GA to drop my daughter off for school, UGA.  And as in any time I travel, I seek out the quilt shops in the area, several in the Atlanta area.  I bought fabrics for this mystery, should have picked from my stash, but .....  Since the drive was so long back to MD, I had to stop for the night and find more shops in the Gastonia, NC area to visit in the morning before continuing to home.  Here are my fabrics for this MQ9....  Well cut this weekend.....

love your fabrics Lisa C! They remind me of the Belgium flag. My husband was born in Belgium.

Ok, originally I was going to make it half size, using fabric from my stash

But I had extra time before work today and stopped at LQS, found this instead so its going to be full size.
