Please use this thread for all discussion and questions regarding Step 1. Thanks.
There is an ADDENDUM to the cutting instructions. If you plan on using the new Strip Tube Ruler you need to cut the strips at 3" instead of 3 7/8". Also don't cut the strips into squares or triangles. You will sew certain strips together and then cut your squares. Cut the same number of 3" strips as you would have 3 7/8" strips. If this is confusing just let me know.
Nana - you didn't said reads as solids, so guess prints will work, HUH? wonder if I could switch it up and reverse my dark and lights. have enough dark batik that I could use from my stash.
"I'm just a poor soul who's intentions are good. Oh, Lord, Please don't let me be misunderstood."
I am not sure if this pattern will look as nice using a dark background. I guess you could try. You would just need to make sure the other 2 fabrics are really light.
What is the finished quilt size?
If we wanted to add borders - how much fabric should we buy and of which one? Should it be one of the three original fabrics or something different? Also - what size does this finish out to without borders please?

Do we still cut the 3 1/2 strips the same and also cut them into 3 1/2 squares?
Nana - Sorry. Do we still cut the 3 1/2 strips the same and also cut them into 3 1/2 squares if we are using the Strip Tube Ruler? Thanks.
Nana, "cut strips" is that WOF?

Can we print directions? See ya when I get back unless I use my phone.
Quilting My Rainbow
Nana - Very excited about this - thank you in advance for all your efforts. Just two quick questions -
How large will the finished quilt be?
If I choose a Medium and Dark for fabrics 2 and 3, which fabric number do you recommend for the medium?
edit - OK that should have read fabrics 1 and 2 - LOL!
A quilt will warm the heart.
Thank you so much for including Tube Ruler instructions. Mine will arrive next week and I am really looking forward to using it. I am currently working on a half-square scrappy quilt and just finished cutting and marking all 432 squares. MQ8 taught me the importance of squaring up each one and what a totally tedious job it is! If this tool helps with that I am all for it!
The finished size on the top without borders is 72 x 84.
Yes you will still need to cut the 3 1/2" strips and cut them into squares.
Yes all the strips are cut WOF.
