Such a variety of finished tops - each beautiful in its own right.  This MQ has been a fun one - I really like the pattern even though this little bitty pieces were a challenge.

Thanks Marge and Donna B and Kris. It's really fun how you can repeat one block in a border and, just with color  and block placement, with corner blocks, have an intricate design that looks complicated. .

After checking back here for a solution I finally came up with one I scrapped my idea,  I got my muse back or idea and am so excited about this quilt now even with all its imperfections!  I went full circle and its gonna have a touch of patriotic colors after all.  I am very pleased with what I figured out to do with my corners!  I'd do a cartwheel if I ever could.  Heres a glimpse at what a days difference can make.  Not sure when I'll get it all finished as brothers up from Fla. now.

I really like the way you resolved the border situation on your quilt top!  And a patriotic theme is a beautiful way to go!  My son became a Marine a few months ago so anything patriotic is now dear to my heart.

Great job, I love it!

I'm so impressed with all the quilts so far and the creative work on the borders. Thanks, Nana, for this MQ8, it's a big step out of my regular choices. Everyone I've shown it to loves it. When I look at mine I see little checkered gray and black fish.So I'm calling it  " City Aquarium " . Don't know why it posted sideways, if you click on it it will be right side up. Weird.

ls, I like your solution for the corners, it makes your quilt more unique, and the red outer border really warms the quilt up. Great Job!

Thanks to all for the nice comments on my borders. It's nice to be done before the deadline for a change. I'm usually bringing up the rear.
