Elaine Phillips:

Well, I am at Anna Maria Island for 10 days so I won't be sewing for a while. By the time I get home you all will be finished. I'm waiting for Nancy to post hers so I can see what mine will look like!!

Elaine.....I just had to ask...Anna Maria Island, Manatee County, FL?.....We are originally from there ...my DH was with the Holmes Beach PD..

I'm almost done assembling my blocks.  I really fell behind on this one.

Judy T-Bellingham:
Can you see it?
Well, yes, but one little hst turned sideways doesn't really show much. I'm assuming you chose to do your corner triangles to match the inner border to give the middle a more interesting shape, right? Colors look great Judy and your points are terrific. I'm still putting mine together and, unfortunately, many of the seam allowances got trimmed in squaring up so blunted points. Next time I'll try for less 'scant' 1/4" seams. But yours look pretty perfect.

Nana - you did great designing this MQ.  As much as I have enjoyed both MQ 7 & 8, if you need to take a break then do so.  Don't worry about us.  It might make us appreciate you all the more if we do someone else's.  Wow!  Wouldn't that be awesome!

Debbie-do,, the color didn't come out red but it is a gorgeous quilt!  On my tablet it's a nice salmon color but still beautiful, would love to see it in person. I might have to cooy your border but do something different in the corners.

I'm happy to say I was able to finish mine at the quilt retreat I've been at since Thursday.

Here it is the finished MQ 8 top.    I didnt like the idea of just throwing the third fabric on as a border at the end so I added what I am calling "Alleys" to but the third fabric on twice.  I think it is kind of cute.  Again if you cant tell by the pic the colors are Plum and Lavender  Here's pics.

Thank you, Nancy!!   Oh Boy Oh Boy did I have a great first retreat!  You gave me some great advice too!  What a lot of fun we had and everyone was cranking out some beautiful quilts.  I am so glad we were invited to join in.  Thank you for giving Jeana my name.  How is/was the retreat you're on?

There sure has been a lot of beautiful tops being finished here. some creative borders too. I got all the rows done today, now just need to finish sewing them together. They're looking better than I thought they would judging by the first block, but they got better as I went along. need to figure out what to do for a border now.
