Well I was getting ready to sew another square,  picked up a 9 patch strip and look what I saw....  Do you see it????

The hst is sewn on the 9 patch with the wrong side up instead of right sides together.  I cant believe how hard I tried to do everything right here and then I find things like this.  oh well..... rip rip rip.

MNnancy, I was thinking about a black or a print with both shades of green in it. I might give it an extra border to make it bigger. or make a few extra blocks. I'd like to wait and see what the final look is going to be. I wanted to give this to DD2's boyfriend.

Nana:
As long as it is just a tiny bit under 8 in you should still be fine.

So glad to hear that, Nana, as I have a few that are a scant 8".

Wel, I fixed the mistake MaryAnne found and then tried to do two more blocks and found two more mistakes.  well, this step won't be done before Step 6 comes out.  probably finish these up tomorrow night, I hope.

Debbie,   I know how you feel,  if its not a mistake, then its the 9 patches being a scant to big.  Shouldnt have taken scant seems.  I do 2 blocks then the frustration kicks in and I stop.  But I will finish.

ok, decided I was going to finish these tonight, well. not it's almost 2:00 am but I'm done.  Please tell me you don't see any HSTs going the wrong way.  I know some aren't perfect but just hoping I did it right this time!

I am no expert but it looks great, Debbie.  Happy for you on getting it done as it can be a bit frustrating.  I didn't notice the error when you first posted the picture but glad it was discovered as it would have been much harder to fix if they were all put together in a top.  Oh, horrors!  Don't even want to think of that possibility.

Great job!

hey Donna,

After I had sewn the squares together for the HSTs, I was going through cutting them, getting ready to press the seams & I had one, 1!, where I had sew the green upside down.  I stopped right then & went through the entire stack.  I couldn't believe it, all those squares & I had to redo one?  Luckily, it was just one & I saw it before I cut.  Fingers crossed I get through step 5 with no issues.

I'm still sewing segment A to B.  My problem that I've found is i lost seam allowance so i will lose alot of points.  Still hoping that I'm just wrong and it'll be fine otherwise I might have to add sashing .  Just thinking out loud here.  So far I've only found one HT that I had to rip.
