Border fabric looks great next to your beautiful block!

I'm playing with making a border with strips of the two quilt fabrics (pink and white) along with the black floral to see if I can make it work. If not, heigh Ho heigh ho off to the store I go.

I have been thinking about making the border from the light/dark fabric, too.  Guess I will have to wait a little more to see what appeals to me.

Well I got 2 blocks done tonight,  in one hour.  Between fixing the 9 patch strips because they are a scant too big on each square and then one the first one I sewed 4 of the 5 strips upside down.  more froggin.  So after I finished the second one, I decide to stop for the night.  I usually will spend more than 1 hour a night sewing, but frustration got the best of me.  But I have 4 down and 14 to go.  I am sure that I will NOT be finished by friday.

So I can't believe I actually got a block done tonight!  :)  It was a lot of pinning, but I think it looks pretty good!  How many more?  JK.  I'll figure it out.

have 10 blocks done and one partially done but al the segments are sewn just need to put them together.  that will have to wait till tomorrow night or Sat, now.  work till 9:00 tonight.  mine look pretty wonky (love that word to describe these) but they are done and that's all that counts.  not sure what I'll do with this quilt. anyway, an here's them on my design wall. sorry, guess picture is not as clear as I first thought, at least it's right side up not sideways.

Debbie your blocks look great on your design wall!  Everyone's blocks look so perfect!

I am enjoying seeing each one's blocks and the two color combination of colors!

I am loving everyone's blocks.  They are all so pretty.  Even the wonky ones....some of mine are wonky too...LOL>    Tomorrow will be the last step.   Then you will get about 2 weeks to finish and post a pic of your top.   Then we will vote for viewer's choice.   I am thinking this is going to be tough voting.

Debbie I see it too.  Look at the top row of block #8 if you start counting top left.

This is my first post in the forum.  I will admit I'm way behind you all, but plan to get this done on my vacation.

my border is picked out but now I'm not sure, I don't really like the floral border with the geometric pattern of the blocks....note to self..next MQ wait until blocks are done before buying the border fabric.

Yes, those of us who have done a few of these try to get that message out to the newcomers at the start of each mystery quilt.  Been there; done that!  Remember to take your quilt top with you when you go shopping.  Hmmm, shopping, sounds like fun!

Weezee, LOVE your fabrics/colors!  Are you thinking of using your solid as a border, too?  I think it would look great!
