I don't think your purple and white combination is plain at all.  Love the colors!

There are going to be some gorgeous quilts produced here ladies!  You're all doing such a great job and these color combos are amazing.  This step is done, looking forward to seeing what comes next.  My squares are all marked too, they just didn't make it into the picture... honest!

Had planned to finish my step 3 tonight but I have been cutting strips to make starter squares to be sold at our Quilt Show in June.  Hope to get back to step three tomorrow.  I have one 9 patch and one 2 inch sewn together just have to add the second 9 patch

Just finished cutting.  Today is Wednesday, and hope to spend the evening finishing step 3.  Thanks to everyone for their ideas and shortcuts.  It helped out immensely, and cut the frustration factor down to hardly nothing!  I never heard of the Shape Cutter, went out and bought one and GLAD I DID!   Everyone's colors and pictures look great!  My two colors are black and white, but I have a cool border fabric picked out.....

Donna

I love my shape cutter.   It is made by June Tailor and has slits every 1/2 in so that you can use it to cut strips and squares and just about everything.   It makes cutting strips so easy.   I love mine.  Have actually worn out one and replaced it recently.

here's my plain Jane's...

These aren't plain but regal - - - rich royal purple and gleaming white.  A rich combination.

I see that you have completed your sets.  I have mine done and am ready to trim them but I need to know what the trimmed size is?  Are they 2" x 6" or 6 1/4" ??  I don't want to trim them too short.

Thanks, whoever said my pruple was regal.  I look at the name and then as soon as I get over here to post, poof, the name is gone from my head and can't see it.

I really, really hope the completed, trimmed 9 patch/strip/9patch sets are 2x5. Otherwise I'm in deep doo-doo.

Your 9 patch/ strip/ 9patch sets should measure 2 x 5.
