This is what I have ready step 3 with a frame. My borders are going to be a pieced piano border; I used the 9.5" pieces sewn together then cut them in half. I am playing with the idea of adding a piping or flange between the red ho ho fabric frame & adding the 2" eggshell (KONA) border to the strip of keys. I have drafted a piano key border with some leftovers as a border as well, I'll see what I like best. but for now this is all pressed and ready on Mother's wall.

Very Pretty!  I like the idea of adding sashing to help lengthen the quilt.  Mine was too 'boxy' for my taste, so I made my top and bottom border just a little bigger than the sides.  I like your solution and will keep it mind when I have the need to lengthen a quilt.  Anxious to see your quilt all finished!

I like what was done here.  The sashing calmed down everything and gave it a wonderful balance.

I really like what you did with this MQ.  Love the idea of a piano key border too.
