Hi Spud!
Appreciate the reply. I almost used these 30s prints in a previous mystery but again wasn't sure about the light-med-dark value difference. I might do some more stash digging and see what tresures I can find....or a fabric shopping trip might be in order. Wish I could post pictures but I'm digitial camera illiterate with the older model we have....;)

I haven't purchased my borders or backing. I didn't quite understand about the borders. Were the 2 1/2 inch and 4 inch the same fabric or just the same amount of fabric?
Jean the 2 1/2 and 4 inch borders are the same fabric. I suggest white, cream, or black.

In the fabric requirements it is called the border fabric. I suggest you go with a solid or mottled neutral for the borders.
Thank you Nana, I'll start looking.
Okay, now it is starting to make sense-do we make suggestions for the wording and such before this pattern is published???? If so, label the borders as "background" so there won't be so much confusion. That has bee the biggest problem I have seen with the pattern design and presentation. I found a piece I had put over to the side as too light for the blocks and it should work fine to set off the other fabrics. I have cut up enough fabric to make at least 1 very large quilt or 2 medium ones-but that stuff will be OUT of my stash when this project is finished!!! That was my idea at the start-to clean out at least the equivalent of a 9' X12" X 8" deep drawer! Of course, I have cutter's cramp-not writer's cramp! :) Looking to have a great time with this!! Thank you, Nana, for your help and patience-try to get some sleep now that it seem most of us are unconfused!

I've been trying to print the fabric instructions and not able to?

Are you trying to print the PDF version? It worked for me just now. Click on the screen, on the Fabric Requirements and Cutting Instructions, and a PDF version will come up. Then click on the printer icon below "Window" and "Help". I apologize if you know this. I didn't know if you meant that you needed assistance with how to print or if you meant the PDF wasn't working. Have a good night! - Carol
Nana, do you think these two fabrics are too directional to use?

Your fabrics are beautiful and will work fine. I used some that are similiar to the bottom one.
Oh, good. Thanks Nana! The bottom fabric is the In the Beginning line we picked up in Leavenworth.
Hi Nana! My FQ's are from Joann's and are only 21" x 18"...will it matter that they are an inch short?
Thank you!

Darn, Tracy, isn't that aggrevating?! I think if you try cutting the specified strips from one of the fat quarters, you may find it is short.
