Here is my MQ6. I'm not going to use border on it I just like it as is. I used a ton of different prints for the little squares and for the background well this fabric kept calling my name... and I didn't care for any of my lighter fabrics.

Laid out a few of the 4-patches with Step 2' blocks just to get an idea of the contrast. Not sure I'm really liking it right now, but hopefully when the real pattern is released I'll like it a little better.

Batik scraps for MQ6

I cut the 2.5" squares from batik scraps I had and a few strips from a jelly roll. Can't decide on whether to go with light or dark backgroud.

Bittersweet - Step 1

This is a cross-section of what my mom and I ended up with once we had all 96 of our blocks, her on the left and me on the right.

We both went about it differently, though I couldn't help but notice underlying patterns and themes that we focused on. I feel like we have a lot of warm colors, and I can't wait to see how these blocks are going to come together with our background and border fabrics (both cool colors).

We have an overabundance of greens and blues left, I hope we'll get to use more of those!

Bittersweet Garden Romance

I chose to use all fabrics from my stash using a color way of Golds, Blues, Greens, and Reds. I found the larger border prind in my stash also which has a touch of each of the four colors in it. Overall the body of the quilt (the X's) reminded me of the path one walked through the garden and the bittersweet romance that ended there.
