I chose pink for my background and 2 of my jelly roll prints have a pink background. Should I change the background to a different color?

No you do not need to change it.  By the time we complete these blocks it won't matter if you have pink on pink in a couple of areas.

Are saving the trimmed pieces to use later, or are they scrap now?

Debbie-do:

I feel stupid asking this but here goes...  after sewing, we trim that corner seam back to 1/4", yes?

in newbie example do you sew right or wrong sides together and after trimming do you discard that piece?  Thanks for replying in advance!

Margaret,

Put them in your scrap basket for your next scrappy project.

Yes, you sew the right sides together and put the trimmed pieces in your scrap basket for a future project.  They will not be needed on this quilt.

on the home page, and on the left hand side of the screen, scroll down to where you see the Mystery quilt question mark. Under that is the heading mystery quilt workshop 6. click on that and it will take you to the instructions.

here is a direct link:  Mystery quilt workshop 6

Also on your home page on the left side you will see a large orange and yellow question mark.                         Click on it and it will take you to MQ6 Steps.

I have a question about step 2.

When we are making the corners, would it be a good idea to stitch the other side of the diagonal to make an hst?

I'm not sure if it's going to be needed in this quilt, but thought it would save a step if needed.

Hi Susie,

These trimmed pieces will not be needed for this project.
