Please use this page to post questions, comments, hints and pics of your block.

OK, I'm not good at applique, especially needle turn.  After trying to make one of 4 little blocks that turn into this bigger block for 3 days, I finally gave up and did raw-edge machine applique.  My block turned out a whole inch bigger than it was supposed to be.  So I did another.  It's not pretty, but at least it is the correct size.  This block, in my opinion is not for the faint of heart.

Those of you who are good at needle turn applique and reverse applique probably won't have a problem.

Karla your block looks good. I plan on piecing it instead of applique.

It's beautiful Karla. I like the stitch you used for the applique.

I've never tried piecing curves yet...I did sign up for the Craftsy class on curves, but haven't had time to watch it or try it yet.  One of these days when granddaughter is in preschool probably....but SIL is talking about having more kids, although DD isn't sure about having any more...she's almost 38 and doesn't look forward to going through another caesarian.

Karla curves aren't bad especially gentle curves like the ones in this block. Smaller pieces are more difficult.

I pieced this one on my featherweight (sewing room still a wreck). I made an error in the upper left section but decided to leave it as is and now I have a wonky block that is a perfect 6.5 inches. LOL It's really bothering me but I will move on so I don't redo it.

I found this block in "Block Base" it is also known as a variation of "Job's Tears".

Karla and Kris I like your blocks.  You both did a really good job.  Unfortunately, I forgot to cut part of this block when I was making kits, so my block will have to wait until the fall when we get back to Texas, unless I can find some fabric I like here in Alaska! LOL
