Sorry it isn't straight! ... Can you all tell that I've done the non-foundation blocks first? Now to rediscover paper-piecing. I loved it when I did my New York Beauty Quilt. I just need to remember how. I hope it's like riding a bike!

I just love looking at everyone's blocks and how each chose different fabrics and colors. So fun!

First your block is great.  The colors work so well together.  And about paper piecing....you'll do fine.  I'm always like Kris, trying to make the block w/o PP but once I do it a couple times it does come back.  Thanks for being one of the facilitators.  The more blocks I do the more I want to do.

Thank you, Mimi, for your words. I have to do at least one with paper piecing since I've already copied the paper! LOL! .... I just can't remember which side of the paper I sew on and which side the fabric goes on. ..... Trying to remember how to ride that bike!

Roxana, search on google or utube for a paperpiecing tutorial, I know there are several out there. You just need a quick refresher course.

I like your block Roxana.

Here's mine:

I made this as the book instructs except I did not cut the corners off the four rectangles until the block was complete.Trimming the block creates that shape.

Those little spiders are adorable.  Nice block too, Kris.  Thanks for the tip about not trimming until the end.

I like the black and white crisp look to this block.

Kris and Roxana two more great blocks.   And I agree about trimming the rectangles.  I won't be trimming until I square up the block.

Great blocks Roxana and Kris.  Trimming at the end was much easier than the way the book said.  One corner like the book the rest at the end.  So here's the finished block.
