I found a really good deal on a 7700, which sounds enticing! I'm wondering if I should go for it, or save a bit on get and buy the 8900? Any thoughts?

I've had my 7700 since the day it came out and I love, love, love it!  It's an incredible machine!  I'd love to know what the deal is since I bought mine at full price at the time.  I did trade my 6600 in for it and got about $1200 for it.  My BFF was with me and she bought the 6600 for $1000, so it went to a good home.

The machine was used at a trade show, about an hour of use. $1588.00CAD

it sounds like a good deal! Any thoughts?

Great deal!  I paid in the 20's with the trade in!  I had to have it so I'm not sorry, it's a great machine!

I have just bought a 6 month old 7700 for half the price. The previous owner bought a 12000 and wanted to keep both but then didn't use the 7700 any more. She even drove around 100 miles to deliver it and had her husband set it up for me (I think she wanted to make sure her baby had a good home) and I love it.

i had a Bernina 440QE that I bought for the stitch regulator but I found it easier to do FMQ without it. My friend had a 7700 and I used it quite a bit as we get together once a week to try different blocks and I loved the size so now I am the very proud owner of a 7700 and a pfaff creative 2.0 which I wanted for embroidery and I do like it and sometimes used it for sewing too.

i love the size of these machines and can't wait to get quilting on my new baby. I can use the pfaff for free motion too but I want it kept free for embroidery mainly.

i now will sell my Bernina as I have a very small sewing room and have already taken  overthe spare bedroom and I don't think my DH will let me take it over completely LOL.

Today I brought my 7700 in to find out what the heck is up with the tension all of a sudden and learned that they have stopped making this model. The owner says she thinks it's because of the problems people have been having with the automatic plate converter.  As far as the tension on my machine goes, she says for some reason, the bobbin tension screw loosened up on its own somehow.  Hmmm.  She worked on it for  a bit and it's doing ok now.  Glad I didn't have to leave it overnight!
