Join us for six months of sharing, learning and fun!
And by the end, you will have completed this Civil War-era inspired beauty. The first set of instructions are featured in the Jan/Feb issue of Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting magazine (available at your local quilt shop or bookseller). Parts two and three will follow in the March/April and May/June issues.
This group, moderated by FP Diane, assistant editor, is designed to offer you a place to chat with other quilters working on the same project, and offer instruction, guidance and moral support (as needed)!
You'll find a discussion thread for each of the 16 blocks, and a Civil War Sampler media gallery where you can post your fabric selections and blocks as you complete them!
Designed by Toby Lischko (also a group member), the sixteen blocks in this sampler quilt were chosen from 5500 Quilt Block Designs by Maggie Malone, and Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns by Barbara Brackman. The calico print fabrics are from the Civil War Ladies collection from RJR Fabrics, and are representative of Civil War time in pattern and color.
Purchase fabric at your favorite quilt shop, or order the kit. Jodie Davis has also provided some terrific video how-to instruction to help you along - thanks, Jodie!
We look forward to quilting along with you!
