This is a second try - I saw the technique on TV yesterday.  You start the center with FMQ and when you start to get "wonky", cut top thread, change to walking foot, raise feed dogs and sew using the outside of the left side of walking foot as a guide in order to get even spacing.  This is supposed to be good for small things like tablerunners.

Very nice Beth. Your circles look good.

There is a  book called "Foolproof Machine Quilting" that teaches how to do fancy quilting designs with a walking foot. I don't have it but I've heard good things about it.
