Officially this group won't start until after Christmas but anyone that just can't wait the first list of blocks is in the pages section.  I will post 5 more blocks every 2 weeks unless we find that we need to slow down.  Have fun and post all your tips and techniques and pics under the appropriate block heading.

I will try to pick some easy blocks and a couple little more difficult with each grouping until everyone gets started.  Then we will progress to the one's that are a little tougher.  I have also posted some cutting tips with each block thread in case you really don't want to mess with a template.

When constructing these blocks I highly recommend a scant 1/4in seam allowance.   Please pay close attention to your seam allowances.  These blocks have lots of pieces and being a little off will make a huge difference.   I hope this tip helps.   Enjoy the process.

Hi Nana,

I am new at this as far as doing a group project online. I am an experienced quilter and have the book and CD. This will give me some motivation to get it going. Could you tell me briefly how we do this online. It sounds like fun. Do we use our own fabric choices?

Thanks,

Tammy

Tammy

Welcome to the group.   You pick your own fabrics and of course the book with the pattern.   The online group will post block selections in the pages section every 2 weeks.  I will also open a thread for each block with cutting tips.   When you complete your block just post a pic in the appropriate thread so that everyone can oooh and aaah over it.   We also like for everyone to post pics of their blocks in the media section.  It is so nice to have all the pics together.

Working with a group online is very motivating and seeing everyone else's blocks is so enjoyable.   It is so fun to see all the different fabrics and colorways.  The quilts all come out so different.

welcome Tammy!  This is my first time with an online group too and it is way more fun than making this quilt on your own. I love seeing everyones blocks as they post them.

Tammy

Merry Christmas to you as well.  It is busy at my house right now.  I just finished the last quilt and now have a set of chair cushions to get made.  But that's ok.  Last year I was still sewing on Christmas eve....LOL
