This sounds like oh yeah the box of squares I started way back when I first started. My daughter asked me about them last week when she was digging for something to work on. I would like to join and since fall is here with winter on the way it will be doable to spend plenty time playing with these. I will look forward to the ideas that are to come.

I'm a material girl....Want to see my fabric collection?

Only 7 spots left in this second group. How's the cutting going?

I've gotten 60 different fabrics in all of the first swap's 16 bags.  Haven't yet started on the second set.  Soon though......very soon.

Has anyone else besides Mimi, Penny, and me realized how fast this cutting goes?!

Roxana, I'm looking forward to that discovery! I packed a bunch of scraps and brought them with me but haven't had the opportunity to start.

Yes, I'm getting through the first set quickly by doing a little each day. :)   And I'm avoiding my holiday fabric- though it seems like I would have enough holiday fabric to do a third swap of just holiday fabrics.

My thoughts as well, Kristie, but maybe not 100.

OK, a quilter's confession:  I have done scraps as well but to make it go faster, I have also started going through my 2" strip drawer and pulled out all the WOF and cut them and then started through my stash and started cutting one WOF.  Then I subcut into 2" with my shape cut ruler (several strips at a time) and I have 16 plus four extra.  I throw the four in my 2" bin.  I have enough stash for both groups and it goes quickly.

maybe we could do 50 or allow repeats.

I guess you could make a cute table runner with only 50. You really don't want to allow for more than 2 repeats. I'll post it on the SWAP Ideas thread and see if anyone is interested. Are you just thinking about Christmas fabrics or adding other holidays as well. I want that clarification before we post it elsewhere just to check for interest.

Hmmm... If we did 50, that'd make 800 we'd get back, right?  Is that enough for a throw?  I'm open to all holidays or just winter holidays.

This one sounds like fun.  It might be cool to pick 4 holidays (Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas) and have everyone do squares for each one-maybe 25 for each and open it up to more folks.  Then everyone would have enough to do table runners or a quilt if they chose to go that way.

Spent a couple more nights in front of the TV cutting squares.  Last night I bagged them up with what I already have and all I have left to cut is 10 more for each bag (32 bags) !!  My shape cut ruler really made this second batch go much faster.

How's everyone else coming along!?  I see there are still some spaces left in the second group.  Roxana, we're going to have to do a little more advertising!
