Okay ladies, start your machines! The First Blue and White Star Block Swap is on. I have everyone's choice for star!
I have started a 2nd group. If you missed out on signing up, don't delay. Post on the Second Blue and White Star Block Swap. Just remember you need to pick a star NOT in the first swap!
With my posts not going through all afternoon until now, I need everyone interested in the 2nd Swap to check that I have them signed up and I need the block choice
Hi Judi - It seems I got all your posts. I chose Knight's Star for the second group star. Thank you again for being such a gracious hostess.

Judi, thank you for hosting this swap! Everyone, remember to square up your blocks to 12-1/2" before sending them to Judi! .... If in doubt about fabric or how to cut it, PLEASE read the pages of the discussion group!
To add to Roxana's post:
Please remember that the blocks need to be 12.5 inches square.
I had a teacher check my 1/4 inch and she said id was perfect. So how come my blocks were small? We found the reason. When I cut my strips and squares, I was just a teensy bit smaller than the ruler and method she used! What I learned was that I make a test block first and then adjust my cutting or seam allowance. Usually I am pretty accurate, but as I learned, not every ruler's measurements are exactly the same and when you add in the number of pieces and seams, sometimes adjustments are needed.
Thanks, Judi, for the reminders. ... Good suggestions!
I'd recommend making your sample block out of scrap fabric but definitely make it and square it up to 12-1/2. If it doesn't square up correctly, try to figure out where you may have gone wrong and keep making sample blocks until you get the 12-1/2" block. I've been known to take my block to the LQS or a friend who is a better quilter than I am and have them help me figure out why I'm missing the mark.
One of our swappers needed to drop out of the block swap due to personal reasons. We now need a 12th swapper. Please let others you know that a spot is open.
Judi, I would be interested in signing up. What was the star block that was chosen by the one who dropped out?
I will put your name in for the 1st group. I do not remember the name of the star blocks she had. Just pick one you might like to make. When you decide, just let me know.
Thanks Judi, I checked both swaps and didn't see that anyone had chosen the Friendship Star Variation so that's my choice. Is white a plain white or WOW?
Bonita, it's plain white, not white on white. If your block uses more than two colors, you select another shade of blue. Glad to have you on board!
Bonita, I have you signed up. White only please.
Maybe I misunderstood, but i thought white on white fabric was OK.
Jacy:Maybe I misunderstood, but i thought white on white fabric was OK.
I,m with Jacy, and that's what I bought for this swap.
"I'm just a poor soul who's intentions are good. Oh, Lord, Please don't let me be misunderstood."
Jacy: but i thought white on white fabric was OK.
Jacy, I thought the same thing and my first set of blocks is just about finished using WOW. I am thinking I might have misunderstood too but at this point in time it's too late to change my first set. The swap outline says "a white fabric." I thought that meant any white fabric.
