Roxana:Let me know your thoughts!
I LIKE that idea, Roxana. I don't think PA has anything specific either but I'm sure I could find something that would remind folks of Pennsylvania. I would welcome either the fat quarter or the layer cake swap.
I like the state fabric swap!
Wouldn't it be fun to see what all came in? ... I'd like either a FQ or a Layer Cake but the Layer Cake would be cheaper thereby opening it to more partcipants! Just a thought.
This sounds like a lot of fun. Mimi is right. I have never seen any LA specific fabric. You would think that with the Lancaster area, the APQS show and the surrounding area, that someone would have done some type of PA fabric. The only ones I can think if are collegiate or pro sports teams!
;Hi Pa swapers Try patriotic fabrics you can find Gettysburg and some others for PA; also I remember seeing someone had some had some Pa Dutch fabric. The liberty bell even the Declaration of Independence and the signing of have been put in fabric. Try ebay. Hope this helps I was thinking the same thing.
Sorry about the double post Roxana can you delete one? Thanks
Not a problem, Kerry!
My DH and I have had fun trying to think of the best fabric to represent Arkansas. I think we figured it out if the swap happens. I think it would be a neat swap!
Roxana: What if we had a FQ swap or even layer cake swap of fabric that represented our home states?
This is an excellent idea. It also reminds me that we did a state block swap some time ago. I need to find them and put them together.
I'm in Maine. Blueberries, pine trees and black capped chickadees.
What's the state flower and bird of Arkansas? Surely there's fabric printed with those. Where is Arkansas? I'll look it up on the map.
I like this idea, I would have to look to see what I can find for PA.
I would be in for this. Kansas Troubles is my very favorite fabric!
Bonner Springs, Kansas
Oh I know....I've seen Hershey's Kisses fabric. That would be fun. And they still make some of that chocolate right there in Hershey. The rest are made in Mexico somewhere. Out sourcing, the way of the world.
All sounds great so someone who hasn't hosted in a while, consider hostessing this one.
Kris, to answer your question (which made me chuckle), Arkansas is in the South, surrounded by Mississippi, Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma,Texas, and Louisiana. I did find some fabric for the state flower and some other possibilities.
I'm always up for pillow case swaps.
If you have never hosted a swap, read the Guidelines on our Pages of the Swap Group. It's lots of fun!
And, please forgive my relationship with "auto-correct." It seems I am editing more and more of my posts these days.
