Only Jun and Sept are left, who else wants to make some mug rugs?

Wow, fastest signups I've seen...

Debbie,

My friend request to you is still pending...should I cancel it and start again, or would you try to friend me first?

I'm interested, but I think you are full. So, I could be your backup.

I see you are full for the mug rug swap.  I knew I was waiting too long.  Wanted to find the heat pad lining first.  If they do a 2nd swap please let me know.

Thanks,

Joyce,

I have never made a mug rug and need some advice on the heat pad lining, is this a requirement??  Every pattern and tutorial I have browsed use regular batting, what is the preference for this swap, I know I did n't see it in the instructions.....

Thank you,

Liz

Liz, I'm with you.  I was thinking to just use all my scrap pieces of batting I have.  I've made potholders and thinking its the same.  Correct me, if I'm wrong, ladies!  I double the batting in mine.

Joyce, not sure there will be second pne unless someone else wants to host.  I have limited space so I know it won't be me hosting another one at same time.

I just checked several mug rug patterns and they all called for batting or lightweight batting.

Another interesting thing I found was the definition of a mug rug: "they are bigger than a coaster, but smaller than a place mat ... the perfect size for your cup of tea and a snack."

I also found this tutorial, http://www.thesplitstitch.com/2011/04/spring-time-eggstravaganza-stripey-egg.html.

I guess they come in all shapes and sizes but regular batting is ok....
