Kris,

Love your blocks, they look so bright and crisp!  I am definitely re-doing my second block,  I just hate seeing those little border seams.

You have inspired (or shamed) me lol

Thanks Annie.

There's certainly no shame here. Will you make another with the same colours/fabric? I'm thinking of remaking my second one in different colours.

Not sure yet what colors to use.  I have a jelly roll Im trying to use up. so I have limited fabric in that collection but can definitely introduce new fabric.

I heartily dislike this block pattern. I used the templates and perhaps should have done it paper piecing. So, before I get really cranky I think I'll walk away from this one.

I really did not enjoy this block.  I cut out all the pieces and figured out how to assemble each section. That was easy. Not enjoyable, but easy.  But I'm having some trouble with the sections and keeping them from being off kilter. I don't like working with the little shapes that are the B & G pieces. That's why I said I wish I'd made it with the foundation piecing method.

Wait, are we talking about the same block? The first one, #1336 was a snap and went together easily. This is the 2nd one, #2741 that I don't like making.

Barbara and Kris, you did lovely jobs on both blocks. Annie, I am with you. It's frustrating to keep those long triangles from stretching.

Perhaps I'll force my way through this today and post a picture if I finish it. I may call it "My Frustration".

OK, mumble grumble, I put the 2nd week block together.  Matching the points went out the window. And it may not show in the photo but the block is wavey. Perhaps I'll name it Blowing in the Wind?

Here's the problem child block

Below is the first block. I think I may have already posted a photo of this.

Judy, your second block looks tons better than mine. My frustration with it was that I felt they made the block harder than it needed to be. But then again, my printer went goofy on me and printed a mis-shaped triangle.

I finally received my Block Base software so now I can also do the Block Base Sew Along with all of you. I plan on installing it on my computer later today or tomorrow. Than I can attempt to do the blocks also.  I thought maybe I would go with either 8" or 10" Blocks for the sew along. Or do you think I should go with 12" Blocks?

Pat,

do what size you like to work with. I like making smaller blocks but I plan on doing a variety of sizes for this sew along. My backgrounds will be the same colour (not necessarily the same fabric).

Looking forward to your contribution.

Well I installed Block Base and hee is my First Block done. I decided to do 8" blocks and am using 30's reproduction fabrics. Tomorrow I will attempt block 2.

Pat, your block using reproduction 30's fabric is really pretty. I'm anxious to see what you think about the next block. Maybe it was just me and Annie who were frustrated, but I had trouble getting it to go together nicely.
