I'll check it out, I am a math teacher but that doesn't mean I can't learn new quilting tricks.
Annie, I love your daisy in Lesson 3. I have the lesson printed but haven't started it yet. I'm going to need to go back and do some review. I'm getting behind and lesson 4 is coming out today. We are leaving Wednesday for the Branson retreat so I've been busy with other things. But I'll have my laptop with and may work on the lessons while sitting in the airport or at the retreat itself.
And, alas alack! the Advanced Layout class starts March 1st! I probably wouldn't have signed up for it, but I really like Fran's teaching methods. She's so good.

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the classes, projects I am int he middle of. I recently started knitting again, so I a always busy. I think I need a break from it all for a bit. My machine is in for a tune up. I was having a lot of thread and needle breaking issues while FMQing, so I decided to have it looked at. Forces me to take a break. Have a great time at your retreat. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Annie, I know exactly what you mean. I may play with it at the retreat. Maybe in the evening while watching TV in the room with George. I know I won't be ready for the advanced class on March 1st. But I'll download the patterns at least.
Makes us wonder why we bite off more than we can chew doesn't it?

I've been off the forum for a few days and was reading about the retreat and came across posts mentioning some medical problems with your hubby. I couldn't find the beginning in the post as they were pages and pages long. I do hope all is well and that your DH is doing better.
When you have time I'd love to hear more about your retreat experience. I am still trying to get one started on the West Coast - maybe Arizona where real estate may be a bit cheaper.
Haven't started lesson 2 yet in EQ, hope we can chat about that too.

Let's have a class discussion of "2" when you get back into it. I would so appreciate going over the lessons again, I always say I will but never do.

I believe I speak for many who would LOVE to go to an Arizona retreat! Let us know if there is anything we can do to help get this idea going.

Have you started lesson 3 in Advanced Layout?? I just finished it, wasn't to impressed with it. Lesson was fantastic as ever, just not that into planning crazy quilts, seems to defeat the purpose for me as I visualize it as an embellish as you go kind of quilt.
Just printed Lesson 4, and that one looks really interesting.
How is George feeling?

Annie, I haven't even started lesson 1 yet. I've saved all the lessons and hope to get to them at some point.
George is feeling pretty good and getting used to the oxygen. It will be a permanent part of his life although he's able to go without it during the day for a couple hours. He kind of pushes the envelope to see what he can do and the doctor says that's OK. He doesn't see the pulmonary specialist until April 17th but the pulmonary test came back showing severe Emphysema. He's in great physical shape otherwise and is back to doing his push ups etc, with the oxygen on. That's a sight to see. For a 72 year old man he's in fine shape in spite of the lung problem.
All this seems to have raised my blood pressure, 195/117. Normally runs about 125/70. I'm sure it'll settle down and may see the doctor if it doesn't.
Happy to hear DH is doing better, but not so happy to hear about your BP!!
I think a few weeks of quilt therapy is what you need to get those numbers down.

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you but the site has been so dang slow on my MAC that I haven't been on in weeks, too frustrating. Going to try Chrome from home. My work computer doesn't seem to give me any problems with speed.

Did anyone take the math class, if so was it helpful? Since Quilt University is shutting down at the end of the year i am looking for any other classes to take. I just signed up for the EQ7 Building Blocks, loved the first class with Fran. I am not much into applique so doubt I will take that.
