go to the top of this thread and click on "Discussions" when the list comes up you'll see "Sorting and Filtering" Change the date to "see all". Then apply and save. YOu'll see all the steps.

Hi ,

I'm trying to find the steps,but I can't find them in order. I tried call customer service for helpand they never came on the line. Then I tried leaving them a message and I've not heard back;so I thought I'd try you by this method. As you can see I on the right page but when I hit next, it skips to four. Can you Help me? I'm ready now to start the quilt top. I'm making the 15inch circle I havenot yet decided if I'll make the whole quilt the rings or not. But in the I wll have a king size. Also I thought I should remind you that I'm making the Indian wedding ring.

Patricia, I am sorry I haven't been here to answer any questions - I had a family emergency and although I am not home yet I do have an internet connection today so that I can spend some time online answering the questions.

In reference to your problem with the background fabric - if you are unable to get anything that completely matches - I would get something in the same color line and closely match and then alternate your blocks - if you only need enough extra fabric for 1 or 2 rows - you could do the different fabric for background on the top and bottom... or the corners if you only need say 4 blocks - and do the other fabric on the outside with the original fabric on the inside... we can work this out...

If you really want to find the matching fabric - do you have the selvage - it should have the name of manufacturer and the dye line - we could hunt for it that way - let me know - I will help search for you!

Shouldn't be a problem. Select a fabric that is a definite contrast and then use it throughout the quilt. I ran into that same problem with two DWR's I made. Selecting the contrast fabric for the centers actually added to the attractiveness of the quilt. Good Luck and "Enjoy"

Very nice Thea. I am not making much progress with mine because I don't have the money for the background fabric right now. I had some unexpected dental expenses that have put a lot of things on the back burner for now. I will keep plugging away and eventually will finish it.

Thanks Thea for your help. I completed my king size DWR quilt and have sent it to a quilting guild for hand quilting. Wanted to post a photo but had difficulty uploading it to this website. I will try again when I have bound it. I appreciate the help and confidence that you gave me as it was a difficult and time consuming project for this full time nurse. Much appreciation to you!!!!

I haven't worked on my dwr since the holidays. I had family visiting, then started UFOs and now realizenim avoiding finishing my dwr. I went a bit ahead of your instructions and am not 100% thrilled with some waviness that I am getting. I'm afraid this is going to become another UFO. Your advice?...

Thanks... again... :o) That was a DUH moment for me but you told me a couple of weeks ago where they went. I haven't made any more progress since my last picture because life has gotten in the way. I'll be picking up my new machine on Saturday, maybe the DWR will be the project to christen it!

I leave the size just the way they are - if you want a smaller picture posted - you can put a smaller number where it has 550 - I have used 200 there - the other one I leave blank.

It seemed to me that the 18" was easier to work with then the smaller ones - but then if you do it correctly - lmao - then each size would be easy - I didn't seem to be able to do the smaller ones as easily. I did find out that you really did need to leave at least a 1/4" when you sewed that 2nd seam on the arcs- that gives you the easement that you need on that piece - makes it so much easier to work with...

I do love your ring... it is so pretty - I do love blues though and that is what it looks like to me - with a beautiful background - it all looks like ice and snow to me - a pretty winter day!

All the footballs are done. I'm so glad I went with the small version (9 rings). Thea, I've gained a whole new appreciation for you!! I had time to go to the next step yesterday but my brain wouldn't allow it. Are the larger templates easier to work with? I'm using 15".

thank you Kris and Angele - it was a lot of work but I am very proud of it - it is a precision quilt but I think if those making it will just be patient and take their time that anyone can do it.

Angele - I will take a look at your measurements with my book tomorrow - but I think that a yard of each fabric should be enough - I think I used just slightly more then that - You are cutting your arc pieces I believe 1 3/4" so with 36" you will be able to get 24 strips - then sew them together and if you have 42" after cutting selvages off you should get ...24 arc pieces from each strip set - so if we multiply 24 x 24 we get 576 arcs - I am not sure how many you need for the size quilt you are making as I don't have my paperwork in front of me -I think for 90 blocks - that is plenty of fabric...

Debbie - I am so excited that you have gotten started - I love your background fabric - I actually had to look twice - I started to agree with Kris about the 4 patches but then went back and looked again and like the lighter color in the 1st option better - it stands out and that is what you want your 4 patch to do... you do not want it to blend with the arcs....your eyes need a place to rest and that is where they rest rather then just continuing around the arcs... awesome job! thank you for sharing your pictures... quilty hugz!
