I can't believe I have made 3 blocks in one week! I am really on a roll! Here is my A-4 Courtney's Stethoscope.
Patricia, Love you A-4. You did a really nice job of fussy cutting your squares in the corners. You a on a roll, keep up the good work. I have been working on TR-9 and having a really hard time. I have rip it out three times. Think it is time to put this one away and try something different. JAS
Thank you Jane! TR-9 does look challenging, especially matching those points. Good idea to set it aside, sometimes coming back to something later makes all the difference. Hang in there! By the way, when is the deadline you have set for yourself?
Patricia, A friend said if I had all the squares done and put together by Feb. 14, 2015, she would throw a big party for our group. I have said I need to have all the squares done by the end of the year. That will give me time to put them together. I have done 91. I need to do 20 more by the end of June. Best get busy. JAS
Well it sounds like you are right on target Jane! Keep up the good work! I am still on a roll - have got another one finished here A-8 Florence Nightengale. A few busy weeks coming up now, don't know if I will be able to keep it up, but very happy with the progress I have made this week!
I know this looks a little "choppy" in a close-up photo, but really when
you stand back, it's not that bad. These close-up photos are just too
Patricia, I do like your block. Sure wish I'd get off my bum and make some more DJ blocks. This winter perhaps.
In the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
Thank you Judy! Yes motivation is hard sometimes, isn't it. Hoping you can find some inspiration soon!
Well I am a classic newbie. I forgot about clipping curves. So I just had to try that one over and, though not perfect by any means, I think this one is considerably improved. So here is try #2.
Hey Patricia, I think it looks good up close. The fabric really makes the design stand out. I have decided I am just going to do them all and when I finish I will go back and all that are terrible I will redo. (If I feel like it and have time). JAS
Thanks Jane! I think you have a good plan. And I'll bet when they are all put together, any little flaws that were bugging you on individual blocks, will not stand at all. At least I hope it works that way for me, haha!
My first DJ block was A-3! 45 done so far. :-) MaryC
Well I have done A-3 Hunter's Moon three times and A-7 Dad's Plaids twice and this is as good as it gets. I am still a beginner at needleturn so I am just going to say okay to these!
Ladies, you are all doing a fantastic job on your DJ blocks.
