paper-piece tutorial here
or to rotary cut you need 2" squares for the corners and center. I like to make my flying geese a little oversize and then trim to size, that would be (2) 3 1/4" sqs of dark, cut twice diagonally for a total of 8 QST's, and (8) 1 7/8th sqs, cut diagonally for 16 HSTs. After making the flying geese units trim to 1 1/4 x 2".
Jacy, I love your fabrics. Here's mine, which is one that I'd already done. It looks catywompus, but it's really not. I think the scanner cover skewed it a bit. (that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it).
In the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
A-5. Red & white hand pieced. Other two rotary cut and machine pieced.
Jacy, I too love your fabric. Is that black and white or navy and white...it looks like you are going with a blue theme in your blocks?
Judy, your block looks wonderful! I hope mine turns out as nice as yours! (This block looks difficult (?).....
Kris, I want some of your ambition! Three blocks! Love 'em all!!!
Ladies, All of your Cathie's Campfire are lovely. I did mine years ago when I first started DJ. I will use it for now, may make a new one some day. JAS
Jane, I love your yellow fabric. Really pretty block.
Thanks Judy!!! JAS
Christine:Kris, I want some of your ambition! Three blocks! Love 'em all!!!
Thanks Christine. What you call ambition others call crazy. LOL
Faye Doll:My A-5...
Here is my A5 Cathie's Campfire. I like this block & it went together pretty easily. I can't say that about trying to get onto QCA, accessing the Group & then trying to download the photo without receiving an error message. Now I'll see if I can add another one!
Nice work Patricia Faye.
This one was done in my class too....campfire - called for flame orange!!!!
Sandra:This one was done in my class too....campfire - called for flame orange!!!!
LOL! Your colors are so appropriate! Love it!
Patricia Faye: I can't say that about trying to get onto QCA, accessing the Group & then trying to download the photo without receiving an error message.
I hear you there Patricia Faye. as I looked at this thread I remembered I had commented on everyone's blocks before but got an error message when i tried to post it, and then I couldn't get back on. It's frustrating for sure.
So I'll try again, I've had a couple of error messages today but as long as I don't go to the home page i'm OK
Christine, my block is navy and white, and yes you guessed correctly......I am going with blues for my blocks.
Kris, 3 beautiful blocks. I noticed several of your red blocks have the darks and lights reversed, are all your red blocks that way?
Jane, your block may be an older one, but it's very pretty. I like you fussy cut corners and center.
Faye, pretty flowers, i love your fabric selections.
Patricia Faye, great block, I like your little print you used.
Sandra, very appropriate fabric for this block. Unlike my seashells, guess I was thinking bonfire on the beach!
